Chris Gainey - musician

Chris Gainey is a composer, music theorist, and guitarist living in Perth, Western Australia. He earned master of music degrees in guitar, composition, and music theory pedagogy from Peabody Conservatory, a PhD in composition from the University of Iowa, and a PhD in music theory from the University of British Columbia. His compositions have been recorded by the San Francisco and Atlantic guitar quartets, and have been included in anthologies put out by the Society of Composers (SCI) and ERM Media. His theoretical writings have been published in Perspectives of New Music and the forthcoming Oxford Handbook of Spectral and Post-Spectral Music.
